Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment

An alcohol, drug abuse, and separate eating disorder intensive outpatient treatment program for adults in Dallas, Texas. We provide the inpatient treatment process on an outpatient basis and at a much lower cost.

Our Beliefs and Goals

Solutions Outpatient Services is based on the belief that addiction is a disease. Because it is a disease, it can be treated. We do not view it as a matter of lack of morals, intellect, or willpower.

Our goal is to provide a safe and healing environment for our clients and their families so they can recover from addictions and become equipped with the tools to sustain and maintain a lasting, comfortable recovery.

Soul Food Treats Eating Disorders

Soul Food . . .

is our separate Intensive Outpatient Program designed for the medically stable adult man or woman who is struggling with a variety of eating disorders, including Anorexia, Bulimia, Compulsive Overeating, and Binge Eating.

Clients participate in individual and group therapy as well as multi-family group and a family workshop. We use a variety of evidence based treatment models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Experiential Therapies, along with the 12 Step Model.

What Makes Solutions Stand Out?

In a time when large corporations are busy acquiring treatment centers across our country, Solutions Outpatient Services remains one of only a handful of facilities that remain owned and operated by its original owner. In 1995, Lois Jordan opened Solutions Outpatient Services, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services to treat alcohol and drug problems. In September 2013, Solutions extended its services to include Soul Food, an adult IOP for the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binging, and compulsive eating. Soul Food has quickly developed the same highly acclaimed reputation as Solutions’ substance abuse IOP.

If there is one word to describe Solutions, it would be Family. Solutions is Family owned, Family run, the staff is Family, the clients become Family, the family members become Family, and the professional community is embraced as Family. Individuals and their families come to us so broken by addictions that they cannot even imagine that they can heal.

At Solutions, we not only help clients and their families gain the tools to deal with their addictions and codependency, but more importantly, we give them the tools to live life in a meaningful way. We believe that addiction is about an unhealthy relationship with a mood and/or mind-altering substance and/or behavior. Therefore, we help clients develop relationships with themselves, their Higher Power, their families, their 12-Step communities, and their community-at-large in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Lois Jordan likes to say, “We provide inpatient treatment on an outpatient basis. Of course, that is not completely possible, but that is what I want them to experience as much as practicable.” To our knowledge, the Family Program provides more hours of services than any other IOP in the area. Also, Solutions appears to be the only IOP in the area that offers an Intensive Family Weekend.

Therefore, if someone comes to Solutions with an addiction, our goal is that they will leave with a sense of Family! They never have to walk alone again. Nothing is lonelier than living with the pain, fear, guilt, and shame of addiction.

At Solutions, we have begun to incorporate into our program the “Structured Family Recovery Model” developed by Debra Jay, author of It Takes a Family. Addiction can exist alone and in isolation; however, we know that recovery cannot exist in isolation. It takes WE,” which is the 1st word of the 1st step of the 12 Steps.
