Solutions Outpatient Services
Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program in Dallas, Texas
25 Years of Solutions
Solutions Outpatient Services is an intensive, evening, outpatient alcohol and drug, and codependency treatment program in Dallas, Texas, for adults 18 years old and older, utilizing the Twelve Step model and Family Systems approach. Solutions is based on the belief that addiction is a disease. Because it is a disease, it can be treated. We do not view addiction as a mental disorder, nor do we see it as a matter of lack of morals, intellect, or willpower.
We do believe it is a disease that affects people in all areas of their lives–physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. The Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are the foundation of our program. With these twelve suggested steps as your guide and your own willingness and honesty as your strength, you can recover from the disease of addiction and return to a life that is happy, joyous, and free.
Solutions provides assessment and referral services for clients 14 years old and older. We also provide a family program for family members of clients. "Bridging The Gap" is a program we offer for families who have family members in treatment elsewhere or who are concerned about family members who are active in their addiction.
Our Mission
The mission of Solutions Outpatient Services is to provide a safe and healing environment for our clients and their families so they can recover from addictions and eating disorders and become equipped with the tools to sustain and maintain a lasting comfortable recovery.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy comes from the "Big Book" of Alcoholics Anonymous and the disease concept model of addiction. Addictions are illnesses. At Solutions, we provide help for addicts, codependents, and their families who are suffering and come to us in their pain and confusion.
Solutions Outpatient Services believes the client should be treated, whenever possible, within the least restrictive environment. We know recovery is a life-long, day-to-day process. This process requires hard work, commitment, self-awareness, and honesty. Many people can achieve this on an outpatient basis through a comprehensive quality program such as Solutions. If inpatient care is appropriate and medically needed, a professional and responsible referral will be made.
Our primary goal is to have each client understand and accept the disease of addiction, his or her powerlessness over it, and that recovery is possible through abstinence and knowledge.
Solutions’ philosophy can be summed up in the following quote:
"Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average. There are those, too, who suffer from grave emotional and mental disorders, but many of them do recover if they have the capacity to be honest."

What Makes Solutions Stand Out?
In a time when large corporations are busy acquiring treatment centers across our country, Solutions Outpatient Services remains one of only a handful of facilities that remain owned and operated by its original owner. In 1995, Lois Jordan opened Solutions Outpatient Services, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services to treat alcohol and drug problems.
